About the Author: Sharon Michalove
Sharon Michalove, once a wannabe novelist, began publishing while working on a Ph.D. in Educational Policy Studies.
Working in the area of history of education, she published articles before she even finished her dissertation.
Once she’d written that, she edited three volumes of conference papers, each including one of her own.
And she was part of a multi-author collection of articles in Women’s Education in Early Modern Europe.
But Sharon's dream was to write crime fiction.
After she retired from the History Department at the University of Illinois, she returned to her hometown, Chicago, where she decided to give fiction one more try.
With two short stories published under a pseudonym, she decided to go back to her real name and write romantic suspense.
Her first novel, At First Sight, was published in 2021 after reaching the semifinals in the “Soon to Be Famous Illinois Author” contest.
It was nominated for a Rone Award from InD’Tales Magazine.
Besides her prized membership in The Blackbird Writers flock, Sharon is currently president of the Chicagoland Chapter of Sisters-in-Crime and an at-large board member of Mystery Writers of America Midwest.
Her Global Security Unlimited Series was a finalist for the Chanticleer International Book Awards for genre series.
