LLH Harms had boxes of stories, books, poems, and essays that she had written over the years stored in cabinets and scattered around; notebooks filled with half-written story ideas; and scraps of paper with lines of a poem or the outline for a book idea that had been jotted down while on hold with some company.
While lecturing her young son about not being afraid to travel and needing to follow his dreams, he asked, “What are *you* waiting for?”
And thus, her debut novel is being published.
In this episode, LLH Harms, author of The Aftertime, joins Lana McAra for a discussion about becoming self-empowered, finding your voice, and creating your #Unputdownable fiction writing story.
LLH’s novel talks about character and doing what’s right and fighting for what’s right, and you’re about to see how her path to publishing also exemplifies facing your fears and making the right choice.
Tune in and hear LLH Harms’ thoughts on:
- What inspired her to write The Aftertime and get it published
- The factors that held her back from publishing her writing before now
- What drove her to choose to have her story span two timelines, hundreds of years apart
- The Aftertime asks what is worth fighting for, and how to fight for it – see LLH’s answers to those questions
- What she hopes readers take away from this story
- And much, much more!
